I (mux) heard an early version of this track and knew I had to be involved. Miss V's gorgeous voice and atmospheric synth work, plus Van's awesome guitar parts, were stunning. Fortunately, Miss V and Van were happy to include me.
After a few failed attempts to write beats, a drunk friend suggested I use traditional Japanese drum samples. Not knowing much about Japanese music, I listened to some and decided to give it a shot. A few weeks and many sticks of sandalwood incense later, the track was finished.
The moral of the story: never underestimate the power of a drunk friend!
